Welcome!!!!

My goal is to catalog all scenes that involve a cartoon character having to pee or peeing. I hope that this will become a resource for those interested in these types of scenes. All I ask when contributing is to please detail the following:

1) The tv or movie the scene is in
2) The season and episode number (if possible)
3) Any additional information and/or description of the scene.

I want to thank everyone in advance for all of their contributions. I hope that this will be a success and that it will be a great resource in addition to the Pee Movie List on Patches Place.

Thank you to Wet Wayne for the idea!!!!!

-Lisa

KaBlam:
In the episode What the Astronauts Drink, we see the host named Henry remark he has to use the bathroom. His co-host June tells him to go in the suit. When Henry informs June that these are Halloween costumes, June becomes very embarrassed and walks off accompanied by squishing sounds. Start around 3:10.

How come nobody's mentioned these yet:
Waffle Hut (Bonus Stage) - Joel and Phil (meow!) are sitting around their "pad" - oh god the 60s - when a fortuitous knock at the door reveals Elly, who has a crush on Joel. She tells them that she's been at Waffle Hut competing in the "How Much Iced Tea with Laxatives Can You Drink" challenge. Unfortunately, she won, and now she has to go severely. Joel refuses to let her in but Phil - who has a crush on Elly - tells her she can go in the back yard. Later she is seen emerging and says "Aaaaahhhh. Thanks, guys. I really needed it." Phil walks up to the place where she 'went' and consecrates it as Holy Ground. I really love that scene since Elly is one of my favorite cartoon characters.

Invading Space Goats (Donald Drusselheimer) - The episode begins where the glasses-wearing girl (can't remember her name) runs out of the ladies' room holding herself desperately and complains to Lisa that a boy (Donald, of course) has intruded the "forbidden chamber" and is using it as a place to formulate his next evile scheme. Lisa looks down on her for being "unpopular" but agrees to go in to the ladies room to fight against "male intrusion". When she gets there, she and Donald have a long argument about whether his plan will work or not ("It's the most stupidest thing I ever heard", Lisa says). Meanwhile the glasses-wearing girl is hopping up and down in extreme desperation and finally, unable to bear it any longer, runs out of the room and is not seen again for the remainder of the episode.

I can not find this episode of Bonus Stage you speak of, can you link us? I don't see an epsiode with the title 'Waffle Hut'

Anonymous said...

link to that invading space goats one as well.

Anonymous said...

Are we including unprofessional webcomics and internet flash toons on the list?, because that is a very nebulous world.

Because I think it should stick to western animated tv shows, films and shorts and japanese anime -
some of which is already obscure and hard to identify as it is.

Anonymous said...

Or we can include any form of media and enjoy everything that's out there.

Anonymous said...

We can't really post anything related to the webtoons if we don't have links, I've watched every episode of Bonus Stage and can't find such a scene.

Anonymous said...

I don't believe either of those are real. I can't even find evidence of a comic or cartoon named Donald Drusselheimer or Invading Space Goats.

Also, to contribute something useful:
In the Adventure Time episode Lumpy Jake, after a tea party Princess Bubblegum claims "I should not have drank all that tea!" and runs off. Nothing else at all is shown.

Anonymous said...

The Simpsons: Oh Brother Where Art Thou? - During a road trip to his brother, Homer drinks too much which results him desperately running into a gas station restroom

Untitled Anime: A boy inside a robot (I believe they were underwater) is very desperate to go which results them landing into an island with the boy taking a piss in great relief

Producing Parker @18.05 (S02E02 "Man Trap")

Parker overhears Penelope, contestant/bachelorette on the show who turns out to be spy for rival tv show, talking on the phone as she urinates on the toilet in the ladies room, peeing sounds can be heard and we see her skirt around her ankles in the stall.
A fight ensues and Penelope attemps to stick Parker's head down the toilet.

The Pro [2010]

Lukas:

The episode "I'm Growing Legs, I'm the Spider" has Lukas writing a song while taking a piss. Unfortunarwly he forgets the song immediately afterward and can only remember it again when peeing. Therefore during the school talent show he wears a diaper while singing so he can pee, and therefore remember the words.

In "The Muppets", Crystal's moe friend Gretchen is desperate after drinking a king-sized smoothie. As a result, she runs extremely quickly to the bathroom during the final round of the School Olympics {thereby winning the olympics for her team} and into the bathroom. Unfortunately, since she is in the bathroom her status as champion is not acknowledged (although her team is still declared the victor). Even worse, the bathroom is full and she is very pee shy so the poor little girl doesn't get to go at all. At the end we see her in agony as she is walking with Crystal to a water fountain.

"Two Girls One Cup" has probably one of the most drawn out desperation scenes in any media today. The episode juxtaposes Crystal dealing with her recent development of bulimia (hence the title) with Gretchen McNairy, in all her moe cuteness, desperate for a toilet but extremely pee shy. Gretchen goes through a gauntlet of desperation scenes, including riding a bike all across town searching in vain for a private bathroom and attempting to go in a baptism font in a Catholic church before getting caught by the priest. She ends up holding it for nearly 48 hours (I guess her severe pee shyness has given her good bladder control) and turning all sorts of colors from the pain of holding until she passes out. She wakes up in a hospital tended by a nurse who won't leave her alone. When she finally is alone, late at night, she takes an unbelievably powerful piss and nearly orgasms with relief.

In the episode "Caitlyn's Day Out" of Magical DoReMi, Dorie's little sister Caitlyn wets herself after eating three scoops of ice cream.
There are also a few more episodes of Animaniacs where Wakko needs to use the bathroom. In the episode with Satan, Wakko is trying to find Six Flags Over Flushing (possibly means he had to use the bathroom) and fails, but the outcome isn't shown. In the musical segment "I'm Mad!", Wakko says he needs to use the bathroom. In the episode "The Girl With The Googily Goop", after seeing everything in the cartoon come to life, Wakko has to pee, but then the toilet they find says he's going to Flushing, and Wakko forgets about needing to go. In "Cookies For Einstein", a pocket fisherman came with a toilet, but we don't see it use the toilet.
The 40th show of Garfield and Friends had a quickie where Jon thinks Garfield wet the bed, when Odie was actually drooling beside it.
The My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episode "The Last Roundup" had Pinkie Pie having to use the bathroom after getting off a train. The episode "Party of One" had Rarity need to use "the little fillies' room". The episode "Winter Wrap-Up" had Spike suggest turning something for birds into an outhouse.
Shimajiro had a couple of episodes about using the toilet. One of them even had a scene where he wets himself.
HeartCatch Pretty Cure! had a scene where Erika Kurumi was in the bathroom, but we don't hear anything but her voice.
There is a Cinnamoroll cartoon short where the gang teaches a baby rabbit how to use the toilet. Speaking of Sanrio, there was an Onegai My Melody episode dealt with bedwetting, and Jewelpet's anime had many toilet scenes in it.
There was also a Tiny Toons episode where Plucky learned to use the toilet.
A song on "Pikapika ongaku-kan" called "Hitori de oshikko" is a song that teaches kids how to use the toilet at night by themself by telling the story of a bear who wants to do so.
Dokuro-chan had a scene where she was looking for her crush in a bathroom. Hilarity ensues...
Also, there are a ton of animated toilet-training videos out there, such as Once Upon a Potty, Go Potty Go, and No More Diapers, that show this...
Another Angelina Anaconda episode ("Bathroom Blues", I think it was called) had Angelina desperate to use the bathroom in a long queue.

Where is this video?

-In HappinessCharge Pretty Cure, Hime hides in a toilet, but doesn't pee in it.
-The movie Frozen has two pee jokes-Olaf talks about yellow snow, and then a troll kid sings "Or does he only like to tinkle in the woods?" in the song "Fixer-Upper".

In the old early '90s version of Kim Possible (yes it existed) there were a large number of references to girls peeing/pooping/farting etc. My personal favorite is the episode "The Black Market" where Ron tries to break into the ladies' room and ends up keeping a desperate girl from using the toilet.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGfTLb6RFk0

Also, the old show Mullibork from the same period, had many episodes set partially in the girl's room. Naturally, bodily functions were a big part of these episodes. One notable instance I can think of right off hand involved the cute Russian girl and the preppy girl in a prolonged desperation struggle to get to the bathroom. Both end up having orgasmic relief as they empty their bladder.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRmey2WvWnw - relief at 1:50

In the Yu-Gi-Oh GX episode 'Taken by storm',during the field trip to Domino City,Dr Crowler realizes that he needs to use the bathroom, but due to his gender ambiguity, he has to choose between the men's room and the ladies' room. When he enters in the men's room,he gets beaten up by the other men. When he enters in the ladies' room,he gets yelled at by the other women and is asked to leave. In the end,he decides to hold it in.We can see plenty of desperation scenes where Crowler is constantly squirming, crossing his legs and bouncing up and down.To add more to his desperation,he frequently gets tortured by lots of running water scenes (water fountains, kids spraying with water, people drinking lemonade, etc).
At the end of the episode,Crowler wets himself, cries and his students are trying to comfort him.

The 60's Hanna Barbera action series 'Space Ghost' has an episode called 'The Lure' where Brak and his brother,Sisto kidnap Jan and tie her in ropes. At one point, she realizes that she has to pee.Jan tells Brak that she must be untied since she really needs to go to the restroom, but Brak tells her that this will require one of his henchmen to escort her to the bathroom to make sure she will not escape.
Since none of Brak's henchmen is a female, she decided to hold it in.In that moment, nothing was worse for Jan than one of those creeps standing next to her in the stall. We can see plenty of desperation in that episode.
In one episode of 'Space Ghost Coast to Coast',Space Ghost is interviewing a desperate girl who is frequently asking where the ladies' room is.Apparently,Space Ghost is enjoying to see that girl so desperate to pee,so throughout the interview,Space Ghost is constantly bringing up subjects like water-related or peeing-related puns to make the girl even more desperate. In the end,the girl wets herself and Space Ghost is gazing with pleasure at her.
Another episode of 'Space Ghost Coast to Coast' features Space Ghost reading a manga with naked anime girls peeing on the cover.
One episode of 'Cartoon Planet' has Zorak telling us the story of a little girl who went with her mother at the mall, forgetting to use the bathroom before she left the house. Then, her mom has lots of trouble while searching for the bathroom in the mall.
There's also a song called 'I gotta pee' sang by Brak.
In the Brak Show,in one episode,Brak drinks too much soda at the movies and realizes that he really has to pee,but he doesn't want to miss anything from the movie.
In a Cartoon Network Bumper,Brak accidentally breaks into the girls's bathroom and ends up keeping a desperate live-action girl from peeing.
There's an episode of 'The Brak Show' where Brak tries to help Zorak with his bed-wetting problem.
An other episode revolves around Brak having to go to the bathroom really badly at school and trying to find one to use,but unfortunately all the stalls and all the urinals are occupied,so Brak ends up holding himself throughout the whole episode.
There's an other delicious episode from 'The Brak Show' where Brak tries to win a pee-holding contest where the big prize is a can of beans.
Another episode has Brak having to go to the bathroom at night, but being too afraid to go in the dark.
Another episode has Brak waiting for his brother to leave the bathroom.
In another episode,Brak enters into a potty dance contest,so he makes sure to drink lots of water.
And I remember that an old 60's Space Ghost comic had Brak and Zorak hiding behind a wall to make sure that Space Ghost will not see them.At one point,Brak tells Zorak he needs to go to the bathroom,Zorak tells him to go against the wall, but Brak tells him he will do no such thing.

And yeah,I found one episode of 'The Brak Show' where Brak enters a pee-holding contest to win a can of beans. The episode was called 'Hippo' and I remember the part where Brak had a full bladder and the host of the contest was torturing him with dripping sounds and peeing jokes.Poor Brak! I felt so sorry for him in that episode.

The first season of 'Yu-Gi-Oh GX' had a running gag which featured Dr Crowler desperately needing to pee but not knowing which bathroom matches his gender.Even though this gag got toned down in season 2,there's the episode "Taken By Storm" which is entire focused on Crowler not being able to choose which restroom to use.
Later on,this gag had become so popular between the "Yu-Gi-Oh' community that the writers had to create an entire series based on this.At first there were like 2 episodes from season 3 of "Yu-Gi-Oh Gx" which were focused entirely on Crowler having to pee. There was the episode "School Ghoul Duels" which has Cancellor Sheppard coming with a new school rule which is "Everyone has to use the bathroom that matches their gender, including the teachers'.Crowler tries to convince Sheppard that he's a man,but he doesn't believe. In all this time,Crowler frequently gets tortured by different watery images like kids spraying with water, fountains and he got really angry everytime someone mentions 'water' or something that reminded him that he needs to go.The other episode is called "Return Of The Sacred Beasts" which has Crowler dueling with the entire Duel Academy and if he wins,he will be left to use the men's room.Even though Crowler manages to defeat all the students in the end,Jaden comes over and defeats him.At the end,Crowler is crying and pleading that he will do anything in the world to be left to pee.Everyone gets moved by the teacher's speech and decides to et him go.
The actual series that was focused on this gag was called "Crowler's Restroom Dilemma" and it consisted in 1 pilot,6 episode + 1 episode that was banned in America.
The Pilot Episode was called "Tour In Italy" and it featured Crowler going in Italy and trying to visit every single monument. However, when he arrived to the 'Water Fountain' he just realized how badly he needs to pee. When he finds a bathroom,he enters into the men's room and gets beaten up as usual. Then,he decides to hold it in.
The other 6 episodes' plots are :
Ep 1 - Crowler is travelling with the plane, but the janitor is not letting him to use the bathroom.
Ep 2 - Crowler goes to the restaurant with a bunch of other gender ambiguous men and they don't know which restroom to use.
Ep 3 - Crowler goes to a dance contest wearing a black tight leather outfit, but he has trouble deciding which bathroom to use.
Ep 4 - Crowler goes to the mall to try new makeup products, but the owner is not letting him to pee.
Ep 5 - Crowler drinks too much lemonade and ends up having a restroom dilemma as usual.
Ep 6 - Crowler goes to a friend's wedding wearing a pink frilled dress and he gets denied to use the men's bathroom because of this.
Ep 7 got banned in America for being too innapropriate for kids and it can be found only subtitled. Its main plot is revolving around Crowler wanting to become a woman to use the ladies' room.
Even though the show got canceled at 8 episodes, the site "Safe2Pee" had made a web series that continues the series. The web series has 4 episodes created by the owners of the site.

The beginning of the episode "Courting Alexis" has Crowler coming from a parade desperate to pee since he was not allowed to go in there due to his gender ambiguity.
There's a scene in the episode "Duel For Hire" which features Crowler and Bonaparte selling lemonade to have more money. At one point,Crowler says that he drank too much lemonade from his stand and excuses himself to use the restroom. Then,he comes over a bathroom line that's full with desperate transgendered people not being able to choose which bathroom to use.

This happened once in the anime version of Johnny Bravo.I know what many of you are going to say : 'Oh,you are just trolling. There's no such thing'
Oh,well, there it was once, but it's extremely rare and I don't think many people remember it.But yeah, there was an anime version of Johnny Bravo, even though it lasted only 13 episodes due to the poor ratings and it received mostly negative reviews from the fans of the original American Johnny Bravo series due to the unfunny cruel humor, changing the main character's personalities and making the overall series way too creepy and edgier, compared to its American counterpart which was more friendly and light-hearted.It also was more adult-themed and it had plenty of sexual innuendos.
I really can't say I liked this show, but honestly,I had mixed feelings about it.It was a 'so bad it's good' kind of show.
The anime version of Johnny Bravo was very different from it American counterpart mainly because how Johnny is portrayed in it.While in the American version Johnny was portrayed as a stupid, yet wacky character,in the Japanese version he's portrayed as a perverted sociopath who likes to rape women on-screen.
Also,I really liked how Carl is in this version. While in the American version,Carl was a geeky dork with weird interests,in the new version he is much more developed. Here he portrayed as a perverted gay man with a crush on Johnny.
In episode 3 there's a scene where Johnny attacked 5 girls and locked them in his apartment. He ties them up and wants to rape them.At one point one of the girls says she has to pee.

Anonymous said...

Oh,yeah. The anime version of Johnny Bravo was really crappy. It was nothing like its cheerful innocent American counterpart and it contained way too many adult jokes and even a few sex scenes.
Not to mention that Johnny was such a creep in that version : he was more of a mean-spirited criminal who enjoys raping women, instead of his harmless, yet friendly American counterpart.
I just found all the episodes of the anime Johnny Bravo on Youtube.Just google "Johnny Bravo anime" and you'll find it for sure.Enjoy

There's a new anime series called 'Oshikko' (which means 'pee' in Japanese) and it's entirely focused on three hot anime young women who need to pee but they are too afraid to use the bathroom since they can get raped by perverted men.
I remember there was one episode where all the girls were bathing in the pool (wearing yummy sexy hot pink bikinis with cherry print) and one of them says she has to go to the bathroom after drinking 6 sodas. But she refuses since there might be some crazy perverted fanboys out there that might take off her swimsuit and fuck her.So she decides to holt it.After a while all the girls realize they need to pee really badly and they decide to holt it in to make sure the perverted boys will not rape them.At one point they can hold it much longer and pee themselves, leaving wet steins on their pretty bikinis.
I just love to see these three girls desperate to use the ladies' room in each episode.

This happens quite a lot in the comedy based movie 'Transamerica' which has a few scenes that involve the main character (a poorly-dressed highly-religious crazy transgendered bitch named Bree whose boring personality and lame fashion sense would scare a shark) having to use the bathroom.
The first scene has Bree visiting her son,Toby in the jail.At one point Bree asks if that prison has a ladies' room. The next scene has Bree arriving at the prison's bathroom, but since it's so dirty she refuses to go in there.
An other scene has Bree and Toby going to the forest with Toby fishing in the lake.At one point,Bree excuses herself to go to the ladies' room and asks Toby if there are any snakes in the forest.

The 2005 Tim Burton version of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' has plenty of toilet-humored jokes, including a few peeing-related jokes - During the trip to Willy Wonka's factory,Veruca realizes she needs to pee.She whines a little about it and Violet tells her to stop being such a crybaby. The scene is never brought back throughout the movie.
There's also another scene where an Oompa-loompa is seen peeing in the bushes.Peeing sounds can be heard.
Another scene has Charlie's parents complaining about Grandpa George wetting the bed every night.
While visiting the Television Room,we can see a commercial with a baby peeing in the toilet on the television screen and Mike points out that he needs to pee by saying that "he'd like to be in that baby's place as well" and scolds Wonka harshly for not having a bathroom in his factory.Wonka mocks him by saying that "little boys have little bladders'.
When going down the garbage hole, the squirrels are seen peeing on Veruca and Wonka makes a joke about "this must have made her really pissy".

the Austroasiatic languages, in recent classifications synonymous with Mon–Khmer, are a large language family of continental Southeast Asia, also scattered throughout India, Bangladesh, and the southern border of China. The name Austroasiatic comes from the Latin words for "south" and "Asia", hence "South Asia". Of these languages, only Khmer, Vietnamese, and Mon have a long-established recorded history, and only Vietnamese and Khmer have official status (in Vietnam and Cambodia, respectively). The rest of the languages are spoken by minority groups. Ethnologue identifies 168 Austroasiatic languages. These form thirteen established families (plus perhaps Shompen, which is poorly attested, as a fourteenth), which have traditionally been grouped into two, as Mon–Khmer and Munda. However, tne recent classification posits three groups (Munda, Nuclear Mon-Khmer and Khasi-Khmuic) while another has abandoned Mon–Khmer as a taxon altogether, making it synonymous with the larger family.

Austroasiatic languages have a disjunct distribution across India, Bangladesh and Southeast Asia, separated by regions where other languages are spoken. They appear to be the autochthonous languages of Southeast Asia, with the neighboring Indo-Aryan, Tai–Kadai, Dravidian, Austronesian, and Tibeto-Burman languages being the result of later migrations.

The Ubangian languages form a fairly close-knit language family of some seventy languages centered on the Central African Republic. They are the predominant languages of the CAR, spoken by 2–3 million people, and include the national language, Sango. They are generally included in the Niger–Congo family, though this has not been demonstrated.

External classification[edit]
Greenberg (1963) classified the then-little-known Ubangian languages as Niger–Congo and placed them within the Adamawa languages as "Eastern Adamawa". They were soon removed to a separate branch of Niger–Congo, for example within Blench's Savanna languages.[2] However, this has become increasingly uncertain, and Dimmendaal (2008) states that, based on the lack of convincing evidence for a Niger–Congo classification ever being produced, Ubangian "probably constitutes an independent language family that cannot or can no longer be shown to be related to Niger–Congo (or any other family)."[3] Blench (2012) notes that Dimmendaal presents no positive evidence that it is distinct, and continues to include Ubangian within Niger–Congo.[4]

Internal classification[edit]
Boyd and Moñino (2010) removed the Gbaya and Zande languages.[5] The half dozen remaining branches are coherent, but their interrelationships are not straightforward. Williamson & Blench (2000) propose the following arrangement:

Ubangian

Banda

Ngbandi (Sango, with 2 million speakers total, is Ngbandi-based)

Sere–Mba

Sere

Ngbaka–Mba

Ngbaka (note the principal Gbaya language is also called Ngbaka)

Mba

In addition there is the Ngombe language, whose placement is uncertain due to a paucity of data.

Note: The ambiguous name Ngbaka is used for various languages in the area. Generally, singular Ngbaka language refers to one of the main Gbaya languages, whereas plural Ngbaka languages refers to a branch of Ubangian.

The Ramu–Lower Sepik aka Lower Sepik–Ramu languages are a proposed family of 35 Papuan languages spoken in the Ramu and Sepik river basins of northern Papua New Guinea. These languages tend to have simple phonologies, with few consonants or vowels and usually no tones.

The family was proposed by William A. Foley and accepted by Malcolm Ross. Its two branches, Ramu and Lower Sepik, had belonged to Donald Laycock's now-defunct 1973 Sepik–Ramu proposal. They are not closely related. The Kambot language is also related, but its position in the family is yet to be clarified.

Based on oral histories of the Lower Sepik peoples, which record that Yimas is spoken near their homeland, as well as the conservative nature of Yimas itself, Ross suggests that the speakers of Proto–Ramu – Lower Sepik may have lived in the northern foothills of the New Guinea highlands and moved into the Sepik Basin as the inland Sepik Sea started to recede six thousand years ago.

There is no real consensus on the internal classification of these languages.[2]

The Salishan (also Salish) languages are a group of languages of the Pacific Northwest (the Canadian province of British Columbia and the American states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana).[2] They are characterised by agglutinativity and astonishing consonant clusters—for instance the Nuxálk word xłp̓x̣ʷłtłpłłskʷc̓ (IPA: [xɬpʼχʷɬtʰɬpʰɬːskʷʰt͡sʼ]), meaning "he had had [in his possession] a bunchberry plant", has thirteen obstruent consonants in a row with no vowels. The Salishan languages are a geographically continuous block, with the exception of the Nuxálk (Bella Coola), in the Central Coast of British Columbia, and the extinct Tillamook language, to the south on the coast of Oregon.

The terms Salish and Salishan are used interchangeably by linguists and anthropologists studying Salishan but this is confusing in regular English usage, because the name Salish or Selisch is the endonym of the Flathead Nation. Linguists later applied the name to related languages in the Pacific Northwest. Many of the peoples do not have self-designations (autonyms) in their languages; they frequently have specific names for local dialects, as the local group was more important culturally than larger tribal relations.

All Salishan languages are extinct or endangered—some extremely so, with only three or four speakers left. Few Salish languages currently have more than one to two thousand speakers. Practically all Salishan languages have fluent, daily speakers who are over sixty years of age, and many have only speakers over eighty. Salishan languages are most commonly written using the Americanist phonetic notation to account for the various vowels and consonants that do not exist in most modern alphabets.[citation needed] Many groups have evolved their own distinctive uses of the Latin alphabet, however, such as the St'at'imc.

The Austronesian languages are a language family that likely had its roots in Taiwan[2] and is widely dispersed throughout Maritime Southeast Asia, Madagascar and the islands of the Pacific Ocean, with a few members on continental Asia. Austronesian languages are spoken by about 386 million people. It is on par with Indo-European, Niger–Congo, Afroasiatic and Uralic as one of the best-established language families.

Otto Dempwolff was the first researcher to extensively explore Austronesian using the comparative method. Another German, Wilhelm Schmidt, coined the German word austronesisch[3] which comes from Latin auster "south wind" plus Greek nêsos "island". The name Austronesian was formed from the same roots. The family is aptly named, as the vast majority of Austronesian languages are spoken on islands: only a few languages, such as Malay and the Chamic languages, are indigenous to mainland Asia. Many Austronesian languages have very few speakers, but the major Austronesian languages are spoken by tens of millions of people and one Austronesian language, Malay, is spoken by 250 million people, making it the 8th most spoken language in the world. Twenty or so Austronesian languages are official in their respective countries (see the list of major and official Austronesian languages).

Different sources count languages differently, but Austronesian and Niger–Congo are the two largest language families in the world, each having roughly one-fifth of the total languages counted in the world. The geographical span of Austronesian was the largest of any language family before the spread of Indo-European in the colonial period, ranging from Madagascar off the southeastern coast of Africa to Easter Island in the eastern Pacific. Hawaiian, Rapa Nui, and Malagasy (spoken on Madagascar) are the geographic outliers of the Austronesian family.

According to Robert Blust (1999), Austronesian is divided in several primary branches, all but one of which are found exclusively on Taiwan. The Formosan languages of Taiwan are grouped into as many as nine first-order subgroups of Austronesian. All Austronesian languages spoken outside Taiwan (including its offshore Yami language) belong to the Malayo-Polynesian branch, sometimes called Extra-Formosan.

Most Austronesian languages lack a long history of written attestation, making the feat of reconstructing earlier stages – up to distant Proto-Austronesian – all the more remarkable. The oldest inscription in the Cham language, the Đông Yên Châu inscription, dated to the mid-6th century at the latest, is also the first attestation of any Austronesian language.

The Uralic languages /jʊˈrælɨk/ (sometimes called Uralian /jʊˈreɪliən/ languages) constitute a language family of some 38[2] languages spoken by approximately 25 million people. The Uralic languages with the most native speakers are Hungarian, Finnish, and Estonian, which are official languages of Hungary, Finland, and Estonia, respectively, and of the European Union. Other Uralic languages with significant numbers of speakers are Erzya, Moksha, Mari, Udmurt, and Komi, which are officially recognized languages in various regions of Russia.

The name "Uralic" derives from the fact that areas where the languages are spoken spread on both sides of the Ural Mountains. Also, the original homeland (Urheimat) is commonly hypothesized to lie in the vicinity of the Urals.

Finno-Ugric is sometimes used as a synonym for Uralic, though Finno-Ugric is widely understood to exclude the Samoyedic languages.[3]

The Mongolic languages are a group of languages spoken in East-Central Asia, mostly in Mongolia and surrounding areas plus in Kalmykia. The best-known member of this language family, Mongolian, is the primary language of most of the residents of Mongolia and the Mongolian residents of Inner Mongolia, China with an estimated 5.7+ million speakers.[3]

The closest relative of the Mongolic languages appears to be the extinct language Khitan.[1] Some linguists have grouped Mongolic with Turkic, Tungusic, and possibly Koreanic and Japonic as part of a larger Altaic family,[4] but this has been widely discredited.

The Indo-European languages are a family of several hundred related languages and dialects. There are about 445 Indo-European languages, according to the estimate by Ethnologue, with over two-thirds (313) of them belonging to the Indo-Iranian branch alone.[2] The Indo-European family includes most major current languages of South Asia, Europe, and parts of Western and Central Asia. It was also predominant in ancient Anatolia (present-day Turkey), and the ancient Tarim Basin (present-day Northwest China). With written attestations appearing since the Bronze Age in the form of the Anatolian languages and Mycenaean Greek, the Indo-European family is significant to the field of historical linguistics as possessing the second-longest recorded history, after the Afroasiatic family.

Several disputed proposals link Indo-European to other major language families.

The Koreanic languages is a language family consisting of the modern Korean language together with extinct ancient relatives closer to it than to any proposed links with Mongolic, Turkic, Tungusic, or Japanese. Among extant languages, Korean is considered by most linguists to be a language isolate, and by others as part of the widely rejected Altaic family. The Jeju language of Jeju Island, considered by some as a dialect of modern Korean, is distinct enough to be considered a language in its own right by other authorities. Some consider that rather than being a language isolate, Korean forms a small language family together with Jeju.

The Kartvelian languages (Georgian: ქართველური ენები) (also known as Iberian[2] and formerly[3] South Caucasian[4]) are a language family indigenous to the Caucasus and spoken primarily in Georgia, with large groups of native speakers in Russia, Iran, the United States, the European Union, Israel,[5] and northeastern parts of Turkey.[6] There are approximately 5.2 million speakers of Kartvelian languages worldwide. It is not known to be related to any other language family, making it one of the world's primary language families.[7] The first literary source in a Kartvelian language is the Georgian language inscription of Bir El Qutt, written in ancient Georgian Asomtavruli script at the Georgian monastery near Bethlehem,[8] which dates back to c. 430 AD.[9]

The Georgian script is the writing system used to write all Kartvelian languages. Lazs of Turkey use also the Latin script.

The Turkic languages are a language family of at least thirty-five[2] languages, spoken by Turkic peoples from Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean to Siberia and Western China, and are proposed to be part of the controversial Altaic language family.[3][4]

Turkic languages are spoken as a native language by some 170 million people and the total number of Turkic speakers, including second-language speakers, is over 200 million.[5][6][7] The Turkic language with the greatest number of speakers is Turkish proper, spoken mainly in Anatolia and the Balkans, the native speakers of which account for about 40% of all Turkic speakers.[4]

Characteristic features of Turkish, such as vowel harmony, agglutination, and lack of grammatical gender, are universal within the Turkic family.[4] There is also a high degree of mutual intelligibility among the various Oghuz languages, which include Turkish, Azerbaijani, Turkmen, Qashqai, Gagauz, Balkan Gagauz Turkish and Oghuz-influenced Crimean Tatar.[8]

The Hmong–Mien (also known as Miao–Yao) languages are a language family of southern China and Southeast Asia. They are spoken in mountainous areas of southern China, including Guizhou, Hunan, Yunnan, Sichuan, Guangxi, and Hubei provinces, where its speakers have been relegated to being "hill people", whereas the Han Chinese have settled the more fertile river valleys. Within the last 300–400 years, the Hmong and some Mien people have migrated to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Burma. As a result of the Indochina Wars, many Hmong speakers left Southeast Asia for Australia, the United States, French Guiana, and other countries.

The Sino-Tibetan languages are a family of more than 400 languages spoken in East Asia, Southeast Asia and parts of South Asia. The family is second only to the Indo-European languages in terms of the number of native speakers. The Sino-Tibetan languages with the most native speakers are the varieties of Chinese (1.2 billion speakers), Burmese (33 million) and the Tibetic languages (8 million). Many Sino-Tibetan languages are spoken by small communities in remote mountain areas and are poorly documented.

Several low-level groupings are well established, but the higher-level structure of the family remains unclear. Although the family is often presented as divided into Sinitic and Tibeto-Burman branches, a common origin of the non-Sinitic languages has never been demonstrated, and is rejected by an increasing number of researchers. A minority of researchers call the whole family "Tibeto-Burman", and the name "Trans-Himalayan" has also been proposed.

@ ness onett: why must everything be about pee? i am trying to educate people on languages and cultures of the world, subjects which i believe more americans should be knowledgeable about. This weird perverted shit might be fun for a little while, but finally constantly jerking off to urination isn't very satisfying.

@ the guy who complained about fetishizing brak: are you kidding me? what planet do you live on where fetishizing brak is "creepy" but fapping to Johnny test and PPGs having to go isn't? this whole website is perverted af. you need to kindly remove that stick from your posterior, doubly since a person who goes on a website devoted to cartoon characters wetting themselves is hrdly in a position to judge anyone but hirself

seriously, dumbass! we don't give a shit about all this history - crap you are writing about.the only one who cares about learning languages or cultures are nerds like you.i couldn't even read 1 comment written by you without falling asleep.
don't you know fetishizing about cartoon characters needing to pee is the new trend?! or you probably were too focused on learning like the nerd you are?!
and by the way, fetishizing brak is cool.brak is just so hot.i have a crush on brak since I was little and the thought of him having to go makes my heart flutter.there are times when I can't sleep at night since I'm trying to invent scenarios where brak needs to pee and ends up wetting his pants due to the lack of bathrooms in a certain place.i remember there are like 2 episodes from 'cartoon planet' where brak mentions he needs to pee,but unfortunately, nothing else is shown.but even then,i remember that as a kid I blushed when I heard brak saying that.
what turns me on the most at brak is his fiery appearance and his clothing (it would be hot to see brak wetting himself in those tight pants he wears).too bad that brak is not animated to do the pee-pee dance (or at least cross his legs or something),but in my dreams he always does the pee-pee dance when he has to go.
even though,i do have fetishes about the dumb version of brak,i personally find the evil intelligent version of brak from the 60's 'space ghost series' much attractive.i just love that deep sinister Chinese-accented voice brak had in the 60's.i just loved how powerful and how confident he was.gosh,i would love to see that version of brak being desperate to pee!
